Lisa Smith Jewels Are Meant to Be Layered

Let go and let your spirit guide you.

Layering is how you make your jewelry your own. There's no wrong way to do it, but there are a few principles that will help you find your look.

Start with Length Graduation

The foundation of any layered look is varying your chain lengths. A classic starting point: one chain at 16 inches sitting at the collarbone, a second at 18-20 inches in the middle of the chest, and a third longer piece if you want drama. The eye moves naturally from short to long, and each piece gets its own space to breathe.

Mix Weight, Not Just Length

Pair a delicate chain like the Lili or Sofia with something bolder like the Cleopatra or Valentina. The contrast is what makes layering interesting. If everything is the same weight, the pieces blur together instead of each one standing out.

Add a Pendant for a Focal Point

A pendant on your middle layer creates a natural center of attention. Lisa's favorites for layering: the Michael Archangel on a Melina at 18 inches, or the Theresa Crown Heart on a Lori at 16 inches. The pendant gives the eye somewhere to land.

The Lariat Changes Everything

The Bianca Lariat drops between the decolletage and creates a completely different silhouette than a standard chain. Wear it alone for understated drama, or layer it as your longest piece with two shorter chains above. Five configurations from one piece.

Bracelets Layer Too

The same principles apply to your wrist. Mix a bold link bracelet like the Isabella with a delicate chain bracelet like the Melina. Add a stretchy stone bracelet (Lapis, Turquoise, or Natural Zircon) for color and texture.

Lisa's Starter Sets

Not sure where to begin? Here are three starting points:

  • The Classic Start: Melina at 16 inches + Lori at 20 inches. Two chains that work with everything.

  • The Bold Start: Cleopatra at 16 inches + Lili at 20 inches. Statement meets delicate.

  • The Complete Look: Melina at 16 inches + Harper at 18 inches + Bianca Lariat as the long drop. Three layers, three textures.

Your Pieces Are Interchangeable

Every Lisa Smith chain works with every pendant and every other chain. There are no wrong combinations. Buy what you love, and it will always work with what you already have. That's how Lisa designs: everything connects.
